For the past two years, I have not gone a second without thinking about my daughter Natalie Quinn.  With her first birthday right around the corner, I can’t help but reflect on what a fabulous journey mommy hood has been!  

My name is Kelsey Reynolds and I am overjoyed to be bringing Mommy Connections to the South Bay!  I recently graduated from Sonoma State University in beautiful Sonoma County with my Bachelors Degree in Liberal Studies in hopes of one day getting my teaching credential.  My dream was to own my own preschool; however, in late 2009 my husband and I found out we were pregnant!

With baby on the brain, we abruptly moved back to the South Bay area of Los Angeles to be closer to family.  I had a million thoughts running through my head of both happiness and being absolutely terrified.  Being pregnant so young, I didn’t have very many friends that had gone through the same situation and those who had were more than 500 miles away.  I resorted to Internet and literature for all of my questions and concerns. 

When Natalie came along in June of 2010, my curiosity did not stop but only heightened.  I immediately joined a Mommy & Me group and that’s where my dream of not only becoming a mommy came to fruition but knowing that I too could provide a place that Moms and Dads could come to gain knowledge, have questions answered and meet friends in the same area that will last a lifetime.  

Thankfully not too long ago I met Kate Kopekin through Facebook.com, and later realized we had gone to the same high school.  It was through this friendship that I was introduced to Carol McBee, the founder of Mommy Connections.  What is most appealing about Carol’s program to me, a first time Mom, is the sense of community and togetherness that is nurtured from the beginning of classes!  Realizing that you are not the only one out there going through the same things as a new mother is something that I only really connected with long after my initial pre-natal classes through the Hospital where I delivered.  Mommy Connections on the other hand helps new moms realize this from day one.

After doing a ton of research and speaking with both Kate and Carol in person about the business model and the company’s successful history, I knew that Mommy Connections was a perfect fit to incorporate both dreams of mine: being a mom as well as informing all parents of what an exciting, eventful journey parenthood truly is!  Moreover, I will be able to give you the tools you will need to be successful new parents both before and after the arrival of your baby.  I cannot wait to share what this community has to offer and simultaneously guide you and your loved ones through the best years of your life!!
