My name is Danielle, and I’m very excited to be the program Director for the Mommy Connections East Toronto location.

2009 was a busy year for me; I married my husband Peter; we moved to a house in a new neighbourhood for both of us; and then we found out I was pregnant with our son. Being one of the first of our friends to have a baby and a very social person, I was desperate to find something to do that would allow me to meet other moms in my neighbourhood. That’s when I stumbled across Mommy Connections, which did just that. I love that I have made some great mommy friends through this program, and that when I’m out walking in my neighbourhood I’m always meeting up with familiar faces.

After attending 3 sessions of the Mommy Connections West Toronto program, I felt this was something that needed to be made available to more moms in Toronto. I guess I wasn’t alone with that thought, additional locations have opened across Toronto and beyond.

Although I currently live in West Toronto, I have always been connected to East Toronto. My father has been managing an independent shop in the Beach since I was 10, which I have also worked at for a number of years. While growing up, I was even involved in some of the local events. Having had these experiences, it’s truly given me an excellent understanding of how important it is for people in a community to be connected to their local business.

I have now been running the Mommy Connections East Toronto chapter since May 2011 and have been growing the program and my family as I’m now expecting our second child September 2012.

I’m truly looking forward to meeting and working with you all to develop even deeper connections in your community.
