The moment people find out you are pregnant the advice starts coming. “Oh you must have the newest and latest___ (insert expensive and overwhelming number of items here)”.
Fast forward 8 months later and I am happy that our cozy one-bedroom condo forced us to be minimalist parents – because so much of that stuff isn’t needed!
Aside from the diapers, wipes, creams and a changing area, your little one doesn’t NEED all that much.
One extra item that I found helpful is a Muslin Wrap – my favourite is the Petit Pehr brand as they don’t shrink in the million washes they’ll face.
I have used mine to swaddle to sleep during those intense first months, put it over the stroller to protect from sun/wind, used as a breastfeeding cover, play mat, burp cloth…the list goes on!
I love it for its versatility, simplicity, adorable patterns…and that oh so lovely baby smell it takes on.
You don’t need a million things – just the necessities and what will make you happy…you’ve got this, Mama!
