Freezer Crock Pot Recipes for the Month on a budget!

So after one evening of admiring these amazing-smart-crockpot-freezer-cooking moms, I have decided to try out this grocery dinner experiment. If you haven’t heard about this latest money, saving dinner plan…I can be your guinea pig! Basically in a nut shell, you pre-plan a number of meals that you can freeze and put in zip lock bags, label and let them marinate while they are in the freezer and then let them thaw the night before and crock pot them the next day so dinner is all ready to go with, no dishes, no mess the night of and the best part save on your grocery bill because it’s affordable through picking similar yet different flavor meals and bulk items!

So after some research of my planning my own recipes, taking some from the net and Pinterest, I collected 18 recipes (some of them I split in to two bags to stretch my dollar and I spent just over $200.00. ( I feel like I could have lowered this spend if I went shopping in the states for groceries…that will be on the to-do for next month) Anyways these are the recipes I selected and made. I also doubled up on a few to make a total of 25 recipes and then made my own home-made fajita seasoning mix. An awesome recipe I found online, and I had everything in my spice cabinet so it was a no brainier. This way I know exactly what is going in to our meal and I know we are eating clean!

  2. Macaroni & Cheese with Broccoli
  3. Crock Pot Cheese Tortellini (Spilt in to Two Batches)
  4. Savory Chicken ( Split in to Two Batches)
  5. Chicken & Spinach ( Split in to Two Batches)
  6. Lemon Garlic Chicken
  7. Ranch Chicken
  8. Pulled Pork
  9. Greek Dressing Whole Chicken
  10. Lemon & Herb Whole Chicken with veggies
  11. Herb Whole Chicken
  12. Italian Sausage & Shrimp (I use Mild Turkey Italian Sausage, and split in to Two Batches)
  13. Saucy Chops
  14. Chicken Fajitas ( Split in to Two Batches)
  15. Beef Tacos
  16. Crock Pot Ribs ( Split in to Two Batches)
  17. Cream Chicken and basil
  18. Chicken in a Hurry

This is a bit of a process to blog so I will be posting it over the next week. I will include 3-4 recipes and my last one will cover how to do it exactly.

LAZY DAY TURKEY STEW – Super Clean, healthy, hearty and we LOVED!

3-4 lbs Ground Turkey Meat
2 cups approx. of baby red potatoes ( you can use whatever kind you have in the pantry really)
3 cups approx. of baby carrots (chopped or whole, whatever you prefer)
2 onions chopped
6 celery stalks chopped
1 can of Kidney Beans or Chick Peas (whatever you have, we like kidney beans)
Salt & Pepper to taste
1 can of tomato Sauce
2 tbsp of Brown Sugar

Split between two freezer Ziplock Bags, remove air & seal, mix around in bag, lay flat and freeze.

Instructions to pre-write on zip lock with sharpie pen,
-Add 1 Cup of water or Chicken broth, cook on low 4-6hours

Enjoy with fresh bread or on it’s own.

Macaroni & Cheese with Broccoli

1 box (13.25oz) of rotini, shell or macaroni pasta

– 4 TB butter
– 4 cups shredded cheese (I used a Colby-Jack blend, but Cheddar would work great too)
– 4 oz cream cheese, at room temperature, cubed
– 1.5 cup of milk
– 12oz evaporated milk
– 1/4 cup sour cream
– 1/2 tsp salt
– 1/2 tsp pepper
– 1/2 tsp paprika

1. In your zip lock bag mix together butter, cream cheese, milk, evaporated milk, sour cream, salt, pepper and paprika. Try to stir out as many lumps as possible. Add Frozen Broccoli, I used 2 cups.  then divide in to two zip lock bags to stretch this for 2 meals, seal and freeze.
Instructions on Zip lock Bags prior to filling with Sharpie Pen.

Dump in Crock pot
Stir in UNCOOKED noodles
Top with Shredded Cheese   (DO NOT mix at this point. The cheese will melt and make it’s way through the noodles.)
-Cover and cook on LOW for 3-4 hours.


1 bag of frozen tortellini (Bought two bags)
1 small bag of fresh spinach ( I had frozen spinach in my freezer so used that instead)
2 cans of italian style diced tomatoes
1 box or 4 cups or chicken broth (low sodium organic chicken broth)
1 block of cream cheese ( used Light to cut down calories)
1 lb. of roll sausage ( i used turkey sausage)

I Browned the sausage and then put all ingredients in to two zip lock bags to make two meals. ( So Split the ingredients in half) Seal the bags and make sure air is removed, mix with hands and freeze.

Pre-write on the Ziplock bag with Sharpie
Crock pot on low for 5-6 hrs.
