If you’re on the main Mommy Connections email list, you’ve likely seen the big news (which has been brewing for months, and I’m so excited to finally shout it out):
I am the new owner of Mommy Connections Inc.!
Many of you may be saying, “Wait a minute, I thought you already WERE Mommy Connections?!”
The truth is, Mommy Connections is WAY bigger than just my West Toronto program. In fact, there is a team of almost 30 directors across Canada. We have Mommy Connections chapters from coast to coast, lead by a team of passionate and caring directors who are all leaders in their community.
The company was founded in Edmonton by Carol McBee almost 9 years ago. I was one of the first ones to join the team when I started the West Toronto chapter. Throughout the years I have participated in many aspects of growing the corporate business, including licensing, program planning and brand partnerships. When Carol announced that her family was relocating to Texas, I approached her about buying the national business, so that I could carry on the wonderful momentum that she has created.
I want to thank all of you for letting me snuggle your babies and share in your parenting journeys for the past 8 years. I’m so proud of the vibrant and supportive community we have created, and I truly hope that you have found your village through Mommy Connections.
It’s for that reason that I plan to also continue on as the director of the West Toronto chapter. My own family has grown up alongside this community, and I am not ready to let you all go! Throughout the years there has been a sisterhood through those sleepless nights, challenges breastfeeding, and sheer joy of watching our tiny creations achieve those early milestones. You all are as much a part of my family, as my own husband and son.
Speaking of my (real life!) family, I want to thank them for being such a source of inspiration, support and strength as I take this big leap into the next chapter of my career. I know that leading Mommy Connections is my calling, but it has meant that my family has had to make many sacrifices along the way. I hope that my journey through entrepreneurship teaches my son the importance of following your dreams, and that if you truly believe in something, you are unstoppable.
To an exciting new chapter,
(Incoming) President & CEO
